Congratulations to Miss Varela for winning "Best Supporting Actress" at the Imagen Awards 2008 last night! She was nominated for "Where God Left His Shoes" and although I haven't seen the movie yet, I'm sure the award was well-deserved! IFC picks up ‘Where God Left His Shoes’
IFC Films has picked up the North American rights to “Where God Left His Shoes” with John Leguizamo. The film was brought to the screen by Paul Allen's Vulcan Prods.
The Salvatore Stabile film follows an ex-boxer (Leguizamo) and his wife (Leonor Varela) as they are forced to move their family to a homeless shelter. On Christmas Eve, he attempts to find a job in New York City so that he can qualify his family for a housing project apartment.
“Where God Left His Shoes” is scheduled to be released theatrically and on VOD in December. The release is part of the day-and-date IFC in Theaters program. It will also arrive at Blockbuster through IFC Entertainment's exclusive deal the video store chain, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film premiered at last year's Tribeca Film Festival, and won the Humanitas screenwriting award at Sundance. (Source)
I can't wait to see this movie!

"Hell Ride" out now!
Don't forget that Leonor's latest movie "Hell Ride" is being shown in cinemas now! From what I've read in some critics so far, it's one of her sexiest roles to date. Living in Germany, I can't wait until the DVD is released so I can watch it myself! The official Hollywood premiere took place on July 31 and so far I have added 42 pictures from the event to our gallery. Enjoy the new eye-candy and go see the movie if you haven't already!

Lionsgate takes 'All Inclusive'
I have some news related to "All Inclusive" today - according to this article, Lionsgate has taken U.S. rights for it! "The film, a production of Chile's Jazz Films, Jim McNamara's U.S.-based Panamax and Mexico's Cacerola Films, is about a family trapped by a hurricane at a Yucatan all-inclusive resort and forced to face their dysfunctions. Lionsgate also picked up Canada and Puerto Rico rights in the deal and will handle homevid and TV sales. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed."
